I will be joining the office on SE St in the next week or two. I am bringing one employee with me and we are taking an office. This is what we are looking to do, pending confirmation by, most of these questions are directed towards you but I do mention things related to in regards to some items. I added Jeff to this email so we can reply to all and find out what needs to get done so we have a smooth transition the week of xmas when we plan on moving in. He has been doing my IT work for a while and knows how everything is set up so he will be of help as well.
1) There are currently 24 phone lines. What we would like is to have one specific line that rings only on the phones in our office (back left next to kitchen/break room). We would like to have three phones total, one for each of us and one more communal phone. I currently have a phone line that we are going to have forward to this designated line that you tell me to use. So whatever line you can give to us, it makes no difference to us on the number, we will have that number ring only to those 3 or 4 phones in that office. If there are already 4 phones in there we are fine with that. (I.E. you tell me that 954-76 rings only in our office and I forward my 954-491-to it for the first few months. We do not care what number of the 24 you have that you give us, we just need it to start the forwarding of calls).
1. VoIP is possible too if you’re interested. We have a partnership with a solid company.
.
2) We would prefer when the other lines all ring, not to hear it on our phones, especially when we are on a current call. I am sure each phone has that feature but if it is easier, we could just have that one line ring into our office. Do you know what would happen if someone called our line directly while we were on it? We want to make sure it rolls over somewhere, and it can be the main office line or to the other phones available in our office.
3) We have a server and would like to continue to have our two computers networked. We will bring over our own computers and server but we also need access to their calyx server (I am presuming you use the calyx server or there is some way processors could access files of LO’s). I will be doing some loans that only myself and my employee will need access to yet I will also be closing loans that will be processed. I understand we can create two data folders for our calyx.
1. Is it a domain controller?
2. Is it running DHCP or any other important service such as IIS?
3. Setup your server to i10.1.100.2, 255.255.0.0, g10.1.255.254, d10.1.100.1(or if it’s a domain controller point DNS to itself and make this the secondary).
4. We can setup a separate data folder in point for you to have sole access, and link you to their data folders.
4) We have an existing fax number and just like the phone number we have, we will be forwarding this fax line to our efax number. We have no problem receiving our faxes via email since I already have an efax account. So this is how we will track our incoming faxes. (just an FYI)
1. If you just want incoming to email you could check Call Wave for $8/month unlimited faxes.
5) I do not think on the computers I saw the most recent version of calyx 6.0a but I understand that you have it or should have received it. If not, let me know, I have my version at my other office. Will you be updating the computers anytime soon with that version? There are many new features and it covers the new compliance issues that took effect for our industry Oct 07.
1. Upgrades to 6.0b can be performed on all those computers in half an hour if requested.
2. Do you need a separate point template?
6) I would like to be able to access my server from home like I currently do via remote access or whatever. I do not need access to any of Community’s information from outside the office but I wouldn’t argue having that access also if need be.
1. What do you use for remote access into your server?
2. It will be easy to set that up.
7) I have an IBM smaller printer that I use to print checks and what not, I would like that in my office connected with my server. (Jeff could do)
1. No problem at all.
2. Does it print via USB or IP?
I cannot think of anything else right now. We look forward to getting this arranged ahead of time so we can move in with a smooth transition. Feel free to reply to all with any answers. Jeff can assist one day on getting my stuff set up but he just needs in the info ahead of time on what we can or cannot do, plus whatever access we may need.
Thank you for your time and it is greatly appreciated.
